Tourmaster Caliber Riding Pant
Every rider should have a good pair of riding pants, and the Tourmaster Caliber pant is an excellent choice for all your riding needs, and in all kinds of weather. It has an amazing set of well thought out and executed features that will satisfy any rider.

The pant shell is made from tough 600 Denier Carbolex with a Rainguard waterproof yet breathable barrier to keep out rainwater. It is windproof as well. Other manufacturers have similar materials, but what makes the Tourmaster products stand apart from the others is the way they keep out the rain at the critical points of the pants like the pockets and zippers.

The two front pockets have waterproof zippers with a Velcro storm flap sealing out any water. The same goes for the front fly. The outside of each leg has a waterproof zipper from the boot to the hip with a nylon flap and Velcro storm flap. All seams are double stitched. While riding in a driving rainstorm, no water seeped into these pants, just as advertised.

Other features include removable CE armor, with Tourmaster’s 3-position alignment system, so you can place the pads exactly where they need to be on each knee, and the armor is held securely in place and won’t move around on you while you’re riding or walking.

A grippy material seat panel makes sure you won’t slide around on a slick saddle, and there is protective hip padding and shin padding built in. Phoslite reflective piping makes you more visible at night or in the rain. The dual snap front waist closure is comfortable, and two Velcro side waist belts help to provide a perfect fit. Comfort stretch panels at the rear, crotch and inseam, along with those above the knees insure that there is no restriction of movement. Also, the rear of the pants has an 8” zipper to attach a jacket.

A full quilted zip-out liner allows you to ride in the coldest riding conditions. That liner features a boot to hip zipper on the outside leg, mirroring the zipper on the shell, so it is easy to put on and take off even with the liner in place. And the lower legs of the liner attach to the shell, so they stay in place.

I’ve worn these pants with the liner in place and only wearing a pair of long underwear underneath, in temperatures hovering around 40 degrees, and was perfectly warm and comfortable. In warmer weather, I’ve removed the liner, and worn the same long underwear, and have also worn them over a pair of jeans. And if one desires, you can even keep the lining in and wear them over jeans. How you use them is up to each individuals’ needs.

Tourmaster thinks of everything . . . because the pants come with a custom hangar that lets you use loops sewn into the inside of the waist and hang these pants full length in your closet to take up less room.

The Tourmaster Caliber pant retails for $179.99 and comes in a huge variety of waist sizes and inseam lengths, which is especially good for short legged riders with expanding waistlines like me. You can go to www.tourmaster.com to see these pants and find the dealer nearest you.
