What a fantastic party it was. Thousands of motorcyclists have now packed their panniers for another year and are heading back home to Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Holland, UK, Ireland, Russia, USA, and many other countries besides.
Judging from all of the different motorcycle registrations on display in the bike park, BMW Motorrad Days 2008 was all about different nations coming together for an ‘unstoppable’ celebration of the BMW lifestyle. This was especially evident in the Party Tent each evening where BMW riders from all over the world crammed into the huge party marquee to share a few beers, jokes and dancing space on the tables.
Making the event happen was the culmination of a year’s work behind the scenes by a dedicated organization team that was determined to make sure that this free festival celebrating all things BMW would be the
Enduro fans were spoiled for choice and it was easy to see which riders had been participating in test rides on the X-track or receiving off-road skills training on the specially constructed Enduro Park. The telltale signs of mud, sweat, elation, and exhaustion were clearly showing on their faces, and you could see them chilling out on the sandy beach relaxation area, stretched out in the shade or even re-fuelling in the beer garden.
It was a case of ‘standing room only’ for Christian Pfeiffer’s stunt show, which continues to innovate and entertain in equal measures. If you think you know your way around a bike, watch and learn from the master, who showed tricks on the G 450 X and the HP2 Megamoto, as well as the trusty F 800 that has brought him so many accolades.
