In 1946, Vespa was conceived as a utility two-wheel vehicle and a means of transportation for the entire family. Its subsequent success was an unprecedented phenomenon. Vespa rapidly became a distinctive symbol of Italian style and elegance around the whole world. Over 66 years later, Vespa continues to inspire passion and loyalty among owners and aficionados. Vespa is the only scooter brand that symbolizes la dolce vita.

The 2013 Vespa lineup features the introduction of a new special edition for the S and GTS Super Sport models as well as new styling and colors on the LX and S models. One of the best-selling model ranges, the vintage inspired LXV-GTV line, sees the return of the crowd favorite Siena Ivory color. And of course, there are a host of accessories available to customize one’s Vespa including top cases windscreens and retro-inspired helmets.

Whether it is 1946 or 2013, there are certain features of a Vespa that make Vespa the most iconic scooter in the world. Regardless of model, each Vespa has these important attributes:

Classic Italian Style
Vespa represents the ultimate in style and elegance. It is an icon of Italian design that satisfies the needs of a sophisticated target worldwide, while exuding the following brand values: premium, Italian, timeless urban classic, a distinctive lifestyle statement.

Steel Monocoque Frame
An indispensable characteristic of the Vespa. The steel frame acts as a solid chassis delivering a superior ride and long-term durability. The steel body will last for generations and not deteriorate quickly.

Trailing-link front suspension
The front suspension is one of Vespa's most original elements. Boasting aeronautic origins, the trailing-link front suspension provides a smooth and luxurious ride. It was initially introduced to make changing the front tire easier.

Peace of Mind
An anti-theft immobilizer, preventing the engine from running unless the unique key is present, comes standard on all Vespa models (excludes S range). A one year, unlimited mileage warranty and one year of free roadside assistance comes standard with all Vespa models.

Vespa LX 50 and LX 150 i.e. ** New Styling and Colors**
The LX line has received a style revamp for 2013. The Piaggio Style Centre focused particularly on the central embossed cover that runs from the handlebar to the mudguard which has become the Vespa's refined distinguishing feature. The front shield now features a more modern and angular design. This gives the front a modern look, at the same time abandoning a few of the rounded shapes from the previous model. Within the front shield lies the chrome-plated horn guard. The final touch of chrome-plated class is the Piaggio shield fixed on the mudguard, inspired by historic Vespa models.

Attention to Detail
Vespa is revered for its fit and finish and attention to detail. For 2013, particular attention was paid to the instrument panel, the handgrips, and the floorboard.

The instrument panel features revamped graphics which provide higher visibility in any condition
(LX 150 only). The large Vespa LX 150 instrument panel includes a speedometer and odometer, the fuel level indicator, digital clock and a series of service warning lights such as direction indicators, low and high beams, fuel reserve and engine oil level, as well as lubricant. Another touch of class is the Vespa logo treatment given to the handgrips and the floorboard protection. Both bear embossed Vespa logos, a widely followed custom in the automotive world.
