SPEED's Neale Bayly went for a ride with the guys from Motus while they were in Charlotte recently testing suspension components. Riding the Motus prototypes from their facility in Birmingham, Al, Co-founder Brian Case and production manager Tom Vaeretti used the 1,000 mile round trip as part of their ongoing development and testing of the brand new NIX 30mm cartridge Ohlins fork. This will come standard on all new Motus motorcycles. They were also evaluating some new spring rates and linkages for the Ohlins rear shocks.

Arriving in Charlotte after a four hundred miles of highway grind, the twisting country roads around Waxhaw gave a great opportunity to evaluate handling improvements, and a chance to pause for a while to discuss the progress of the company. Allowing Neale to spend some time in the saddle, he told us he was very excited by the progress the bikes have made in the year since he last rode from California to Denver with the Motus crew.

Unfortunately, the visit was a short one as Motus are moving into a new facility in Birmingham next month as they ready themselves for production. But, Neale will be heading down to Birmingham in the next months to bring you up to speed, pun intended, on their progress. Stay tuned.
