For more than 30 years Mustang Motorcycle Products LLC has worked hard to build upon its reputation for manufacturing the world’s most motorcycle seats. However this rich heritage doesn’t mean Mustang is content to rest on its corporate laurels! Instead, the focus has shifted to the ride ahead. The new logo and new products on display this weekend at the Jacob K. Javits Center in NYC hint at some of the changes to come in 2013.

“Its all about the ride… and has been since Al Simmons founded the company back in 1980,” says Marketing Director Marilyn Simmons. “We are proud of the fact all Mustang seats are still handcrafted in our historic facility in Three Rivers, Massachusetts. However, we also recognize that the marketplace has changed pretty dramatically during the past 33 years. While our seat technology has constantly evolved, it is time for our message to be shared with a new generation of riders who might not know Mustang’s history or quality.”

The logo, which makes its debut at the International Motorcycle Shows, delivery of the 2013 catalog via electronic channels, new hires and promotions are all harbingers of Mustang’s commitment to the ride ahead. However it is still the seats themselves that command the attention. New fitments, including seats for Honda’s Gold Wing (be sure to check out the next generation ’Wing F6B at the Honda stand in the big apple), stitching options and even distressed brown covers are signs of Mustang’s change.

“There really is much more coming… soon,” says Marilyn. Rumor has it that a complete custom shop is coming, not to mention full catalogs for Metric and H-D® applications.

Despite a high-tech catalog App from PixelMags and the new look, Mustang has definitely not forgotten its core values. “All Mustang seats for Metric Cruisers and Harley models are still proudly handcrafted in the USA,” says Marilyn.
