After the Barber vintage festival I spent the day at the new Motus factory. Located in the center of Birmingham’s commercial district, the new 11,600 sq.ft. facility has an incredible history, as it was the home of the original Barber museum from 1994-2003. With ample space for offices, design studios, and production, Motus are gearing up for the launch of their new 2013 models, so it looks like another trip to Birmingham is on the cards soon. Brian Case says, “it’s extremely special to be located in the building that inspired the present Barber museum, and we are excited to be at the stage where we are building new motorcycles.” Touring the facility and looking at shelves full of wheels, suspension parts, and other new components it’s exciting to see the dream becoming reality. Talking with Lee Conn he told me, “I’m super excited to be working with a growing number of America’s top dealers, and to be able to announce Motus will be offering demo rides at all authorized dealers next year.” I’ve been fortunate enough to put many miles on the two development machines, so know how important it is going to be to let people ride to let them to have the full Motus experience. It’s like no other. Motus also welcomes their new office manager, Lutavia Heaton, as they begin to expand their staff, and she is a wonderful addition to the growing team.
