BIKES: KYMCO Recalls The UXV 500 Vehicles Due To Potential Fire Hazard
Consumers should discontinue the use of this product and return their UXV vehicle to a KYMCO dealer in order for a repair kit to be installed.

KYMCO USA advises you to stop operation of this Utility (UTV) vehicle until the repair has been made.
In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, KYMCO USA is advising the general public of a potential safety defect found on the KYMCO UXV 500/500i, UXV 500/500iLEandUXV500/500iSEmodels. Allvehiclesproducedformodelyear2009–2011 and a limited number of 2012 models are affected. (See below for more details.) This potential hazard can cause serious injury or death if not repaired by an authorized KYMCO dealer. KYMCO USA advises you to stop operation of this Utility (UTV) vehicle until the repair has been made.

Potential hazard:
The nature and extent of the possible defect, or the risk is due to an exposed portion of the exhaust system that could allow debris such as leaves or brush or other flammable materials to catch fire and burn. The risk includes the possibility of serious injury or death and or damage to property!
KYMCO USA reports about 1876 vehicles are affected by this recall. To date three cases have been reported of vehicles that have caught fire causing damage to the vehicle. No injuries or deaths have been reported as a result of these incidents.

Models affected:
All KYMCO UXV models including standard, LE and SE versions produced as 2009 through 2011 and a limited number of model year 2012 as Standard, LE and SE models including Fuel Injected models. See table for VIN range:
Remedy: Consumers should discontinue the use of this product and return their UXV vehicle to a KYMCO dealer in order for a repair kit to be installed.
