BIKES: Holiday Gift Guide Part 2
A Holiday gift guide for that special biker on your list!
Ace Café T-Shirt
Last week, SPEED.com published Part 1 of my Holiday Gift Guide. We had a lot of technical gear and accessories for those special bikers on your gift list. In this part 2, we continue with some great items, and a few things that are a bit more fashion related, from Triumph.
Triumph makes some great technical riding gear, but they also have a wide variety of cool stuff to, well, just look cool even if you’re not riding. Triumph, along with Harley-Davidson is one of the few companies with the heritage and street cred so that non-Triumph owners, and even non-motorcycle riders want to wear. Here are some things you can order for anybody who just wants to be Steve McQueen hip. And the other items are pretty neat, too.
The MG Moto-Hangar
The Moto-Hangar is a great little portable gadget for hanging your helmet to keep it safe from accidents when you’re not wearing it. It is a slickly designed and handsome piece of polished zinc alloy that is a 1-1/2 inch disc with a few curved, magnetized links that fold around the disc. Pull the links away from the disc, and place the disc on top of a restaurant table, ( a rubberized pad makes for a non-slip base) and the links hang down to make a perfect hook to hang your helmet on through the d-rings. Now you’re helmet is safely positioned off the floor and right next to you to make sure it won’t be stolen or damaged. It is so cool and simple, and easy to carry in your pocket.
The Moto-Hangar can also be used to hang a coat, or tank bag, too. It will hold up to 15 lbs. And if you have access to a regular coat hook or closet rod, you can just slip the D-rings through the unit, and use the hook portion to hang your helmet or tank bag.

Ace Café T-Shirt
London’s Ace Café is where it all started for the Rockers of the late 50’s and 60’s, and it was where they went to show off their stripped down Triumph “café racers” that could “do the ton”, or reach 100 miles per hour. Slime Power Sport Tire Repair Kit (#4001)
Slime has packaged a complete tire repair kit that should be in every saddlebag whether you’re riding across town or across country. It contains everything you’ll need if you find yourself stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire.
The kit includes an 8 oz. can of their famous Slime Tire Sealant, which will seal a puncture up to ¼ inch, and a compact, high-power 12-volt, 300psi air compressor to get you back on the road safely and easily. Also included are a fused cigarette lighter power connection, a fused alligator clip connection, or a permanent pre-wired, fused pig tail connection. Scala Rider G4 PowerSet by Cardo Systems
This is the best Bluetooth and bike-to-bike communications systems that I’ve ever used. This system comes with everything you need to outfit two helmets. The G4 can be paired to your cell phone, MP3 player, and a GPS device, so you can enjoy its features when riding solo, and use the bike-to-bike or intercom with a passenger when riding with a friend or two-up. It also features a built-in FM radio and you can preset your favorite stations.
It is easy to install on any helmet, with the two speakers fitting into the ear pockets, and the boom microphone adjustable as needed. (the units can be ordered with a wired mic for full face helmets) It’s easy to pair with all your communications devices, and comes pre-paired with the second unit. And the unit is waterproof.
The controls are simple and easy to use, even with gloves on, and you get 13 hours of talk time and 7 days of standby time with only a three hour recharge time. The full duplex bike-to-bike communication range is 1 mile, and is voice activated. The units automatically adjust the volume according to the ambient noise, so you seldom have to adjust the volume.
