Tony Gallo
Supercross racer Tony Gallo, of Valley City, Ohio, qualified for the night show of Round One of the 2011 AMA Supercross Series, in Anaheim, California. This was a huge success for Gallo, with him making it into the featured heat races in the big-bike class of big stars in the big-time night show of Supercross, on his first attempt.

Leading up to the Anaheim race, Öhlins USA technicians worked with Gallo for two days at an outdoor track in Southern California, testing and tuning his Honda CRF450R’s suspension for Gallo’s full-season assault on Supercross. At the same time, Gallo trained with multi-champion Grant Langston, taking part in the new Langston Racing Academy.

Gallo pushed himself hard the afternoon timed sessions, falling in each while still qualifying for the night Heat Race Two. By chance, that heat was a loaded field of who’s-who heavyweights of Supercross. Heat Two included: James Stewart, Chad Reed, Ryan Villopoto, Ivan Tedesco, Joshua Grant, Brett Metcalfe, Austin Stroupe, Jeff Alessi and Mike Alessi, crowding for the nine qualifying spots of the main. Gallo ran as high as 11th, finishing 13th. In the LCQ, Gallo wound up 8th, missing the main by just a scant few positions.

Öhlins USA Off Road Manager, Stacey Berger, said, “We’re really proud of Tony for making the night show on his first try. For a privateer racing out of a van, we know he’s going to earn a lot of attention this year. Doing the whole series and doing it in the big-bike class is all new to him and he’s taken to the challenge really well. He’s an accomplished rider who knows how to communicate what his bike is doing. It’s great team effort working with him and we want to thank all of Tony’s other sponsors who’ve come on board to support him in the national series, particularly Inforce Technologies for providing his bikes.”

Other primary sponsors for Gallo include, Fly Racing, Roadrunner Transportation, Samosky’s Pizza, Ethical Business Connections, AMSOIL, SavageRacingProducts.com, and RevolveRacing.com.

Öhlins USA distributes and services the world’s leading performance suspension for automobiles, motorcycles, ATVs, and snowmobiles. Öhlins develops its proprietary and innovative suspension components at the highest levels of racing from open-wheel car racing, to Moto GP, to off-road competition on two and four wheels. Öhlins USA also provides training for service centers and dealers. www.Ohlinsusa.com
